A Man of My Word
My hope for you that this blog finds you well and blessed by Jesus. Jesus is the great blesser and desires to bless us throughout our lives. We must position our life in Him by faith with clean hands and a pure heart to experience His blessings and grace.
In scripture we find many examples of a life lived with integrity. Integrity should be a characteristic of every believer in Jesus the Christ. It means truthful reliability and honesty. Integrity means our word can be trusted as truthful. In truth our words and name are the most valuable things we possess. The Lord states plainly that both Job and David were men of integrity.
“And the LORD said to Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.’” Job 2:3
“And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules,” 1 Kings 9:4
Both men lived while holding tightly to their reputation because their reputation reflected on the LORD God Almighty. It did not matter what happened in their life whether it came from God Himself, Satan, or other people. They would not surrender their good name.
“Then his wife said to him, ‘Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.’” Job 2:9
The integrity of their life was their whole being and held the hope of their life. Even in private they held fast to their integrity.
“I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house;” Psalm 101:2
“Is not your fear of God your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope?” Job 4:6
These men would not vary even a little bit. No, they would rather die with their integrity intact than live without the trust of others.
“Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.” Psalm 26:1
“Far be it from me to say that you are right; till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.” Job 27:5
With a life of integrity, we are trusted not only by men but also by God Himself. In our integrity we find ourselves in the presence of the LORD Almighty.
“But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence forever.” Psalm 41:12
Let’s live a life known for our integrity. Let others admire it. Let God uphold it. Let us cherish it. Thereby holding a testimony of faithfulness.
Because Jesus loves us,
