Due Diligence
As born again believers in Jesus the Christ we find ourselves involved in the Lord’s Kingdom work. The Light of the Kingdom is shining out dispelling the darkness of this world. As lights, filled with the Spirit of Jesus we shine out dispelling the darkness as we live in this world. Our work for the Kingdom is important work, serious work, and eternal work. We need to give our best to the work of the Kingdom of God.
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23-24
As servants of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords we should be diligent in our life and service to the King of Glory. To be diligent is to show steady, earnest, and careful effort in our work, duties and life. Several times we are told in scripture to be diligent.
We should be diligent in our abiding in Jesus, our life filled with His Spirit.
“So take diligent heed to yourselves to love the Lord your God.” Joshua 23:11
“We have sent with them our brother, whom we have often tested and found diligent in many things, but now even more diligent because of his great confidence in you.” 2 Corinthians 8:22
We should be diligent in our Christlikeness.
“Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,” 2 Peter 3:14
We should be diligent in our life of love and obedience.
“Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4:11
“Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;” 2 Peter 1:10
We should be diligent in our knowledge and use of God’s Holy Word.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
We should be diligent in our love, peace, and unity in the Body of Christ.
“with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3
And we should be diligent in our work of discipling others to follow Jesus.
“And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.” 2 Peter 1:15
Spend today, diligently living for Jesus and witnessing for Jesus.
